The College of Mount St. Joseph’s TEAM-MSE Program offers an accelerated series of courses leading to a Master of Arts in Education degree with a concentration in multicultural special education. Graduates of the program will be eligible for an alternative special education license which enables them to be employed in Ohio as an Intervention Specialist serving children with mild to moderate or moderate to intensive needs. This unique program allows the teacher candidate to complete the degree and license within 21 months.
TEAM MSE also offers a three semester second licensure in special education (K-12) for those teachers who currently hold an Ohio teaching license. All coursework for the second license may be embedded into a master's degree.
The TEAM-MSE program is structured to meet the guidelines set forth by the Council for Exceptional Children’s Knowledge and Skill Base for All Beginning Special Education Teachers, and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC). The TEAM-MSE Program has been approved by the Ohio Department of Education.
