The Department of Health Sciences houses three programs: Athletic Training, Nursing and Physical Therapy.
The Athletic Training Program offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training. The Athletic Training major is structured to meet CAATE standards for program accreditation as well as for certification examination eligibility set forth by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATA). The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
The Nursing Program has been in existence for more than 75 years. Two tracks to obtain a Baccalaureate in Nursing Degree (BSN) are offered: a day program for non-licensed students, and an accelerated format for licensed registered nurses. The BSN program is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing, and has consistently received accreditation status from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission since 1950.
If you are interested in the Mount's Doctor of Physical Therapy program, you can enroll in an undergraduate program such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, psychology, criminology/sociology, social work, sociology, athletic training, art with a concentration in pre-art therapy, English, history or liberal studies. While taking courses in your major, you may also complete pre-requisite courses for physical therapy. The Physical Therapy Program has been fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
