Be involved in something greater.
The Ethical Leadership Development Initiative builds on the mission of the College of Mount St. Joseph as a Catholic academic community that educates students with an interdisciplinary liberal arts and professional curricula emphasizing values, integrity and social responsibility. This distinct focus on values-based leadership reflects the College’s Catholic roots, Sisters of Charity heritage and historical purpose.
What is Ethical Leadership?
At the Mount, ethical leadership is an intentional, living manifestation of our culture of ethics and service:
Ethical leadership calls individuals and groups together into a relational and purposeful process of responding with integrity and respect to the needs of individuals, organizations and society by promoting the common good through their decisions and actions.
Why Ethical Leadership?
The Mount’s Ethical Leadership Development Program teaches the skills employers are looking for in the leaders of tomorrow. Candidates with personal integrity who communicate effectively, think critically and solve complex problems stand out in the world of work.
Designed to make the connection between the classroom and the real world, the Mount’s Ethical leadership Development Initiative will help you envision how you can use your chosen career path to make a difference in the workplace and in the world.
- The importance of community
- Concern for the common good
- Respect for one another
Why at the Mount?
Since founding The Mount in the 1920s, The Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati have modeled for students the value of a respectful and responsible way of being in society through their practice of ethical leadership. Throughout that time and into today, they have guided Mount students to be champions of justice, to be loving and caring in their relationships and to seek ways to liberate the oppressed.
