Currently in graduate school for Zoology at Miami University in their Global Field Program, Jen Taylor, 2013 Mount alum, has received an abundance of field experience and opportunities since the completion of her undergraduate studies from the College of Mount St. Joseph.

Hands-On Experience

In Clearwater, Florida she works as an intern on the Stranding Team at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium where she responds to distressed and injured wildlife. As an intern, she has had opportunities to rescue, rehab and release a variety of species. She also traveled to Belize in the summer of 2013 where she learned about community based conservation, the local ecology and aided in a manatee radio-tracking program.

Crediting Her Mount Education

Taylor credits the Mount as a big source of her success. “I would not be the person I am today if I had attended a different school, taken a different path, or had a different group of professors,” says Taylor. She especially is grateful for the Mount’s team of professors and specialty faculty. “The lessons taught both within the classroom and beyond are the ones that have stayed with me,” says Taylor.
