#GivingTuesday at Mount St. Joseph University

Thank you for taking part in this new tradition and investing in the lives of current and future Mount St. Joseph University students.

What is #GivingTuesday?

In 2012, the National Day of Philanthropy became a part of the holiday kick-off season to bring focus to the charitable season in the wake of the commercialized Black Friday and Cyber Monday. More commonly referred to as #GivingTuesday, National Day of Giving harnesses the power of social media to give back around the world and throughout the year. The movement was founded by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. In 2015, the movement raised nearly $116 million for various causes. Additionally, there were countless community service hours donated to make neighborhoods a better place for all as a result of the #GivingTuesday movement.

Why you should get involved?

We’re inviting Mount alumni, faculty, staff and others to get involved as we raise awareness, and raise dollars, to better the future of the University. All dollars raised during #GivingTuesday will be applied directly to student scholarships. Donors like you help to make it possible for us to grant financial assistance to 96 percent of our student body. With your help, we will ensure this opportunity will be available for years to come.

How to get involved

On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, go to msj.edu/givingtuesday and make a donation in the amount of $19.20 to honor the Mount’s centennial celebration in 2020. We have been entrusted with the future of the Mount, and with your help, we can guarantee the University will thrive for another 100 years! Your incredible acts of kindness help make a Mount education a reality for so many students.
