Students at Fresh Start

Everyone deserves a “Fresh Start.” Students in CORE 425, a senior capstone course focused on the global human rights of women and children, are collecting donations for Bethany House.

Students will be collecting toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, and conditioner from November 9 through November 30.  There will be five baskets around campus to receive these donations.  The locations are Seton Lobby, Archbishop Alter Library, Conlan Lobby, Harrington Food Court, and in the student lobby near Fiscal Operations.

Bethany House is a shelter that serves homeless and disadvantaged women and children. It is committed to making homelessness a temporary condition. Dillon Martini, a student in CORE 425, noted that, “Many people are in need of a fresh start because many people often face hardships in life and deserve a chance to start over.”

“FreshStart” is a way for you, as the Sisters of Charity remind us, to “dare to risk a caring response.”  Help spread the word by posting a photo on social media with the hashtag #FreshStartMSJU
