Along with over 150 leaders of other Catholic universities, religious orders, and organizations, Mount St. Joseph University president H. James Williams, Ph.D., signed the Catholic Climate Declaration on behalf of the Mount. The document supports the We Are Still In (WASI) campaign across America. The signatures are being made public on June 18, 2018, the third anniversary of the Declaration.

The WASI campaign was formed in response to President Trump announcing his intention to withdraw the United States from the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement. Soon after, Pope Francis issued the Laudato Si document. More than 2,800 leaders of cities, states, tribes, businesses, universities, non-profits, and places of worship — have joined the campaign, representing the largest cross-section of American society ever to support climate action.
