Two College of Mount St. Joseph alumni recently received very high honors from the Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA).  Adrian Vance Hawk ’07 was named the Southwest Outstanding Art Teacher, out of more than 4,000 art teachers in the state of Ohio. Adrian teaches art at Monroe Elementary in New Richmond, Ohio.  An art education and fabric design major while at the College, she lives in Amelia with her husband, Nathan.

Katherine McMonigle ’13 was named winner of the OAEA Student Division Award, out of more than 1,000 higher education art students.  She is currently working as a sub for Butler County Schools, having received her master’s in education in May and bachelor’s in fabric design from the Mount in 2008.  She is a resident of Harrison, Ohio.

The awards will be bestowed at the annual OAEA Convention in November.

Congratulations!
