Thompson receives Bing Litonjua Award from the College of Mount St. Joseph

The College of Mount St. Joseph presented the 2013 Bing Litonjua Award for Excellence in International Understanding to Pete Thompson, a senior studying business administration. This award is presented to a junior or senior who has demonstrated excellence in international understanding, especially with respect to issues of social justice.

Thompson is a member of the men’s lacrosse team at the Mount, and has been involved with Students in Free Enterprise and the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. He is most proud of being a member of the lacrosse team for four years, earning an internship position with the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum and being the first Mount student to participate in the Semester at Sea study abroad program.

Thompson is from Homewood, Ill., and is the son of Mark and Kathy Thompson.

The College of Mount St. Joseph is an undergraduate and graduate Catholic college that provides an interdisciplinary liberal arts and professional curriculum emphasizing values, service and social responsibility.
