Take Me Out to the Ball Game: Tips for a Great Date at a Reds Game

File Under: life in cincinnati

Let’s face it, Cincinnati has always been a baseball city. For decades now, couples have been venturing to the ballpark where they find themselves hoping to be caught on the big-screen Kiss Cam. Date nights to the Reds games have changed over the years, but here are some tips to make your Reds date night one that you won’t soon forget.

Start by getting tickets to a Friday night game. I’m not saying that all Reds games aren’t special, but the Reds offer a free fireworks show after Friday night home games. The fireworks are set off to different soundtracks each week, and they are sure to make your evening worthwhile. Tickets to the game can be purchased at the ballpark or found online at reds.com or stubhub.com.

Once you have your tickets, have dinner downtown. I recommend visiting Newport on the Levee and taking advantage of the $5 parking they offer for game days. Be sure to check out the Hofbrauhaus, Brothers, and Bar Louie for great meals.

After dinner, enjoy a scenic walk across the bridge leading into the stadium. Enjoy the game, the atmosphere of the ballpark, and the fireworks show that follows for a wonderful evening. Follow these tips, and you’re sure to have a night to remember.
