Co-op experiences are important parts in many college students' school careers before they graduate. Co-ops and internships offer real, hands-on experiences where students can earn money and college credit before they graduate.
The College of Mount St. Joseph has a unique partnership with Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services (HCJFS) thanks to the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./US Bank Foundation grant to fund the positions of students as co-ops at HCJFS. HCJFS still has a summer co-op position available in their communications department. They are looking for someone who will work there this summer and possibly into next school year. The salary is $12.50/hr. fo 40 hours a this week this summer. They also would like this position to cral into position to be extended to the following school year and possibly into next summer as well.
The co-op position's duties include writing for social media, blog and newsletters. Although the job is comprised of lots of writing, candidates can be from any field as long as they apply through Mount Connect.
Mount alumna Courtney Howard was the College's co-op student of the year in 2013 for her co-op as an analyst at HCJFS. She was one of the few undergraduate students to present a research poster of the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Social Worker's state Conference.
