The College of Mount St. Joseph presented the 2013 Distinguished Student Award to Jessica Pykosz, a senior studying athletic training. This award is the highest honor the Mount bestows upon graduating seniors in the traditional and nontraditional baccalaureate programs and the graduate programs. The recipients must demonstrate superior academic performance, community service in keeping with the Christian mission of the College and dynamic interpersonal communication skills in academic and community settings.
Pykosz’s accomplishments at the Mount include being part of the 2013 Ohio Athletic Training Association quiz bowl state championship team, a member of the athletic training club and a captain of the women’s soccer team for the past two seasons.
She has also had practical clinical experience by doing athletic training for various Mount athletic teams.
Pykosz is from Milford, Ohio. She currently works at the Howell Rehab Center and is hoping to go to graduate school to get a master’s degree in physician’s assisting.
