Little children at the theater.

The College of Mount St. Joseph is proud to offer the MSJ Theatreworks Summer Camp. Theatreworks is a fun, weeklong camp where kids ages 6-14, can come together to act in an artistic playground, while being guided by an experienced professional teaching staff.

Students taking part in Theatreworks have the option to focus on “fun with acting,” or “musical theatre.” Fun with acting concentrates on improvisations, developing characters for stage, voice/ imagination activities, script creation, acting games, storytelling, set/ prop design and acting skills. Musical theatre puts focus on Broadway songs and choreography, script creation, acting games, prop/ set design and musical acting skills.

The camp begins Monday, July 28- 31, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, August 1, is a performance put on by the students for friends and family. The cost is $150 per student which includes a full week of classes, theme day prizes and gifts each day, a special Madcap puppet show, a Friday pizza party and an awesome Theatreworks t-shirt.

The Mount is able to offer a limited amount of scholarships for Theatreworks to those who might not otherwise be able to afford the camp fee. Contact Mary Mazuk at for more information.
