Children at the theater.

Calling all future thespians! Mount St. Joseph University will again offer Theatreworks, a week-long summer camp for kids 6-14 from July 25 to July 29, 2016.

Theatreworks gives children the option to choose between two categories: “Fun with Acting,” or “Musical Theatre.” The acting option concentrates on improvisations, developing characters for stage, voice/imagination activities, script creation, acting games, storytelling, set/prop design, and acting skills. Musical theatre focuses on Broadway songs and choreography, script creation, acting games, prop/set design, and musical acting skills.

The camp is directed by Lisa Bodollo, a local high school and college instructor. Other camp instructors are selected from the Mount, Northern Kentucky University, Wright State University, Indiana University, Cincinnati College of Music, Xavier University, Ball State and Madcap Productions.

The camp will be Monday, July 25-Thursday, July 28 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and Friday, July 29 from 1-6 p.m. with a performance for family and friends at 6 p.m. The cost is $150 per student which includes a full week of classes, theme day prizes and gifts each day, a special Madcap Puppet show, Friday pizza party and a Theatreworks t-shirt.
