Karen Forgus, Senior Vice President of Business Operations for the Cincinnati Reds will speak at Mount St. Joseph University, Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at 3:15-4 p.m. The event, hosted by the Student Association for Sport Management (SASM) is free and open to the public.
During her speech Forgus will discuss the state of affairs related to the Reds and Major League Baseball (MLB). She will also speak about the Cincinnati Reds hosting the upcoming 2015 All-Star game at Great American Ball Park and the economic impact it will have on the city of Cincinnati.
In her current role Forgus is involved with ticket sales and corporate sponsorship sales strategy, community relations, diversity initiatives, marketing communications, broadcasting, in-game entertainment and production and promotional events. She also directs social and digital media strategy and has worked as a freelance speech writer, media buyer and art director for a number of corporations and non-profits.
She instituted The Reds Way customer service model used in-park by Reds employees and Reds partners. During her tenure she has worked to reinvent the internal marketing and public relations departments within the Reds. Forgus also established consumer clubs within the Reds marketing strategy, beginning with the introduction of the Reds Heads Kids Club, which sold 16,097 memberships in 2013.
She serves on the boards of the Cincinnati Children’s Theater, Downtown Cincinnati Inc., the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame, and the Reds community Funds.
