When making the decision to attend college, most people are thinking about their future careers, and they want a college that can provide opportunities for skill and career development. Mount St. Joseph University’s Career & Experiential Learning office regularly hosts events and courses that enable students to do just that.

This fall, the University will be hosting a Career & Co-op Fair as well as a Career Fair Workshop prior to the event. Both events help attendees learn more about how to build on their skills and approach potential employers.

The first step:  Attend the Career Fair Workshop

Preparation prior to a career fair is crucial. During this workshop, students will learn strategies for approaching employers, asking the right questions, and marketing their skills.

Don’t know what to wear or what to bring? Come to the career fair preparation workshop to find out!

Once you’ve mastered the workshop, it’s time for step two:

Attend a career fair hosted by the Mount

The Fall Career & Co-op Fair connects you to over 45 employers in one place at one time. Learn more about employment opportunities in your field, including professional full time and part-time employment opportunities, co-operative education, and summer positions. A wide range of organizations will be represented along with employers offering non-traditional career paths. Network with HR managers and recruiters who influence the hiring decisions for their companies.

If you are just beginning to explore your career options or academic major, the employers are also available to share their information and insights. Hear more about their philosophies, missions, and management styles.

To make navigating the career fair even easier, please download the app, MSJ Career Fair Plus.

The fair is open to all students, alumni, and community members.
