Working professionals have a new option to advance their careers with a Saturday MBA (Master of Business Administration) program that will begin this fall at the College of Mount St. Joseph.
The Mount’s Saturday MBA is designed to allow candidates to earn a degree in approximately two years, by taking courses one at a time on Saturday mornings. Ten courses will meet for seven weeks and two will meet for 14 weeks. The classes will be taught by faculty who are experts in their fields in accounting, corporate finance, statistics, economics, and marketing.
“We have developed the Saturday MBA degree to meet the needs of the Cincinnati business community,” said Jamal Rashed, Ph.D., dean of business at the Mount. “More employers are requiring a graduate business degree to advance to higher-paying jobs in organizations. The Mount’s new Saturday MBA understands working professionals are busy during the work week so we have developed a class structure so they can take classes on Saturday and still be able to focus on their jobs and families.”
The Mount currently offers undergraduates a “4+1” MBA which allows students to complete undergraduate and graduate coursework for a MBA in just five years. A specially designed fourth year of classes includes graduate-level courses which allow students to graduate a year sooner.
“We are crafting our MBA product to what people want and that’s flexibility and those who still want to have face-to-face, small classes with learning from experts,” said Rashed. “Our Saturday MBA meets those needs.”
