Senior history major at the College of Mount St. Joseph, Ashley Ivory, traveled to Washington D.C. to attend the second inauguration of President Obama on January 21.
Through an internship in the Community Affairs office of Cincinnati’s, Mayor Mark Mallory, she had the opportunity to attend events including the swearing-in ceremony, an inaugural ball and the inaugural parade. She was also able to meet local government officials from different cities across the United States and participated in other networking events.
“It was a remarkable experience,” says Ivory. "Being a history major and wanting to pursue a career in politics, I was able to witness and take part in a piece of United States political history.”
