Sr. Rose Ann Fleming SND ’54 of Cincinnati is currently the faculty athletics representative and special assistant to the president at Xavier University.

Ruth Ann Hanley ’56 of Indianapolis has published a book titled “No Pulling Back.” There will be a reading and discussion session in the Archbishop Alter Library at Mount St. Joseph University, on Monday, October 13.

Marilyn Nistler Schlabach ’58 of Fairfield, Ohio, went to Rome on a pilgrimage for the canonization of Saint John XXIII and Saint John Paul in April 2014. 

 

1960s

Shirley Kruger Bonds ’66 of Spanish Fort, Ala., recently married Howard Bonds.

Maribeth Jergens ’67 of Strongsville, Ohio, has retired from 45 years of private practice counseling, school psychology, school counseling, and special education teaching in Cleveland.

Mary Anne Zaya ’68 of West Chester, Ohio, and her friend Barbara Franco Sherer traveled to Normandy for the 70th Anniversary of D-Day in WWII where their fathers were the Regimental Surgeon and Assistant Regimental Surgeon for the 82nd Airborne 505th Regimental Combat Team. They went there to honor their fathers and see the aid stations, field hospitals, and other places that they wrote about in their memoirs.

Sandra Marie Heitz ’69 of Cincinnati retired in June 2014 from Our Lady of Visitation School in Cincinnati, after teaching 3rd grade for 45 years.

Margaret Longano Miklas ’70 of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., has just had her second book, “My Love Affair with Sicily,” published.

Susan Florian Garofalo ’76 of Parma, Ohio, is a pre-admission testing nurse at Big Creek Surgery Center in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. Daughter Meredith is meteorologist at KEYT Santa Barbara, Calif.; daughter Megan is an early childhood intervention specialist at the Academy of Arts and Sciences, Lorain Ohio; and husband Rick is retired from AT&T and a contract instructor with Ameritraining.

Amy Lynn Schroyer ’87 of Cincinnati is the interim site executive of the Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care.

 

1990s

Ann Marie Dierker ’94 of Erlanger, Ky., and her husband Tom, welcomed their seventh child, Monica Grace, on June 7, 2014.

 

2000s

Capt. James W. Cannon III ’01 of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, ran as a Republican Primary candidate for the 71st Ohio House District in 2014.

Jeremy Rosselot-Merritt ’01 of Cincinnati has been appointed to be on the board of directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Southwest Ohio as well as the outreach chair for the chapter. The appointment is for two years.

Steve Bain ’02 of Cincinnati was named the new treasurer for Oak Hills School District.

Lisa Raney ’07 of Visalia, Calif.,  graduated from the University of Kentucky in December 2010 with her Master of Science degree in Library Science. She was the 2011 recipient of the UK Library and Information Science Student Organization (LISSO) Leadership Award. She currently works as a Reference Librarian at the Tulare County Library in Visalia, California.

Nick Messinger ’08 of Cincinnati accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences at the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy.

Patricia Leiske Knepshield ’09 of Hampton, Va., married Talbert Knepshield on May 25, 2014 in Madison, Ind. Attending the wedding were three of her former athletic training professors including former Department Chair Dr. Malissa Martin, and 14 other athletic training program graduates. Patricia is the head athletic trainer at Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth, Va. and the athletic training coordinator for Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, Va. Her husband is an active duty member of the United States Air Force.

Trent Hammer ’10 of Columbus, Ohio, and Jacqueline Weber ’10 of Elmore, Ohio, will be  married on September 27, 2014.

Kevin Schomaker ’11 of Cincinnati received the Educator of the Year Award, a student selected honor, from DePaul Cristo Rey High School where he is a mathematics and science teacher. In addition to teaching, Kevin developed the math focus of the Academic Mentoring Program, served as a math teacher mentor, and served on the School Accreditation Steering Committee.  

Ashley Lear ’12 of Cincinnati married Brandon Gault on May 9, 2014.
