Black Student Union brings in keynote speaker for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

Phillip Cox, a well known leader in the Cincinnati area, will give the keynote speech, "From Freedom to Equality: Empowering and Mobilizing a Generation Towards Change" at the College of Mount St. Joseph annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Luncheon. The luncheon is open to students, staff and faculty and will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Theatre Lobby. 

Cox is the president and CEO of Cox Financial Corporation. He is a frequest speaker around the country and has been the keynote speaker for many national and local organizations. He and his company take an active role in youth programs in greater Cincinnati. For the past 40 years, Cox Financial has been philanthropically involved with teh community, assisting in phases of downtown development and enhancement of Cincinnati Public Schools. He has served on many boards, including serving as Chairman of the Board of United Way. 

Cox holds a doctorate of letters degree from the College of Mount St. Joseph, University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Technical College.
