Elizabeth Mason, Assistant Professor in English, represented the College of Mount St. Joseph this summer and early fall on the English Language Arts panel at the Ohio Board of Regents to draft the College Readiness Recommendation Report for Ohio Institutions of Higher Learning.  The panel itself included representatives from English Departments and Writing Centers from schools ranging from the University of Cincinnati, to Kent State University, Sinclair Community College, John Carroll and The Ohio State University.  Professor Mason participated in lengthy discussions regarding the success of high school curricula and remediation-free standards for incoming college freshman all in the process of examining statistical evidence about persistence and pay off at the collegiate level.
