Biography:

Dr. McCafferty is an assistant professor and the instructional leadership program director in the Department of Graduate Education. He earned an Ed.D. from the University of Cincinnati (1994) and also holds degrees from Xavier University (1982) and Northern Kentucky University (1975,'78). Professor McCafferty served as a K-12 educator for 32 years -- 25 of those years as a school principal in a variety of settings including suburban, rural, and urban high schools, middle schools, and an award-winning urban elementary school. 

Dr. McCafferty enjoys distance running, bicycling and a variety of outdoor sports when at leisure. His current favorite activity is mountain biking where each excursion features a new injury to both body and bike providing the opportunity for tale spinning during recovery and repair times. He rides at Versailles and Brown County in Indiana, Mitchell Memorial Forest in Ohio, and Idlewild and Devou in Kentucky. Information on new and exciting courses is always welcome.
