Mr. Mader is a professor of art and design in the Department of Art, Fine Art, Art Education & Art History. He heads the art history program. He also serves as the IDS (Interdisciplinary Studies) Coordinator; MSJ Travel Coordinator; and advisor to the College's London Program. A full-time faculty member at the Mount for more than 40 years, Professor Mader earned his M.A. in Art History from the University of Cincinnati.
Professor Mader is a professional sculptor and his current research interests include technical issues related to bee hieroglyphs in ancient Egypt, the drawings of Salvador Dali, and nautical archaeology in the Aegean Sea. He has published articles in "Grove's Dictionary of Art" and has authored artist biographies on the Web sites of the Tate Modern Museum, London, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
Mr. Mader has exhibited in more than 40 juried and invitational exhibits. He has reviewed manuscripts for Prentice-Hall publishers, has been faculty consultant to ETS (Educational Testing Service), and is a Field Reader for the U.S. Department of Education.
