The TOP program is structured to encourage involvement from freshmen year through senior year and in some cases, beyond. While in TOP, students will strive to achieve bronze, silver or gold status, based on performance and activity level. Students must complete all of their chosen courses and activities prior to graduation.

Bronze Level

  • Attendance at a minimum of three distinct TOP events
  • Completion of CED 220, "Foundations of Professionalism"
  • Participation in at least one leadership development opportunity or course

Silver Level

  • An approved employment experience
  • Attendance at 5 distinct TOP events
  • Completion of CED 220, "Foundations of Professionalism"
  • Completion of CED 320, "Building Your Professional Edge" or CED 420, "Accelerating Your Professional Career"
  • Participation in at least two distinct leadership development opportunities or courses

Gold Level

  • An approved employment experience
  • Attendance at 7 distinct TOP events.
  • Completion of CED 220, “Foundations of Professionalism.”
  • Completion of CED 320, “Building Your Professional Edge.”
  • Completion of CED 420, “Accelerating to Your Professional Career.”
  • One-on-one career coaching with the TOP Advisor related to job search during final year
  • Participation in at least 3 distinct Leadership Development opportunities or courses.
  • Completion of a multicultural component

Students completing gold level status will be required to complete a showcase portfolio relevant to their desired career field through the completion of CED 420, Job and Graduate School Transition. Success in completing the program will be confirmed by an offer of employment in the minimum of an entry level position related to the degree.

Gold level students who are seeking employment or are unsure of post-graduation goals six months after graduation will be offered additional professional resources. In partnership with PROMARK, a Careers Partner International Firm, TOP will offer Mount students enhanced preparation for the world of work and the ever-changing job search process.
