Pre-professional studies at the College of Mount St. Joseph are courses of study prepared by expert faculty members that supplement your existing major and better prepare you for a career.

Pre-professional studies offer dedicated guidance from faculty members in the  Division of Arts and Humanities  to help tailor your course work so that you are better prepared to pursue an advanced degree following graduation.

Art Therapist

Art Therapists specialize in using the process of creating art to enhance a person’s physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Pre-Art Therapy

The Mount’s pre-art therapy area of study prepares students for entry into an art therapy graduate program following graduation.

This course of study seeks to develop your understanding of art as a therapeutic tool that can be used to help people in a variety of settings.  These skills are developed by completing coursework from multiple disciplines, including psychology and art.

Following graduation, students will need to pursue a graduate degree in art therapy in order to become licensed or board-certified.
