Career Potential:

Students who major in Chemistry and Mathematics acquire a unique skill set, and are prepared to pursue some of the most technical and exciting careers in all of science. Some may continue on to graduate programs in either chemistry, mathematics or chemical engineering. Others may enter the workforce as a research chemist, biomathematician or biostatistician. A degree in Chemistry/Mathematics is excellent preparation for a wide variety of professional schools, including engineering, medicine, pharmacy, law and many others.

Hands-On Experience:

Under the guidance of faculty, chemistry/mathematics students at the Mount can participate in research as part of a research group. Many research students are co-authors on published chemistry research papers while others present their work at regional professional meetings. Cooperative education provides real-life experience in industrial settings or research labs in greater Cincinnati. These co-op positions have often led to full-time positions for our students.
