The Management major provides broad-based knowledge to prepare students to be successful managers in today’s dynamic business environment.

Developed in conjunction with area business leaders, the Management curriculum provides the technical and interpersonal skills that organizations demand today. Students who major in management will be able to apply knowledge of leadership and management to increase efficiency and effectiveness in accomplishing organizational goals. Students gain a strong ethical foundation and awareness of global and social issues in business, as graduates use their knowledge to contribute to business operations in organizations ranging from large corporations to small businesses.

Management majors may enroll in the 4+1 M.B.A. Program during their senior year. This option enables students to graduate with two degrees in five years: a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and an M.B.A.

Hands-On Learning:

Co-op and service learning immerse students in the real world and provide rich opportunities for experiential learning and the application of skills and knowledge learned in the classroom. Students work under the supervision of a faculty member and an agency professional in a variety of non-profit and for-profit organizations and community partners.

Business students are encouraged to take advantage of co-op opportunities and a variety of career services and programs available through the university Career and Experiential Education Center

Open to full-time students, the innovative Talent Opportunity Program (TOP) allows students to build skills in career planning, professionalism and ethical leadership from freshman year to graduation.

It’s the same management degree you can earn on campus, and it’s available online.

You will be prepared to contribute to business operations in organizations ranging from large corporations to small businesses to non-profits.

  • Each course follows a similar format, and you will know from the very beginning of each course what will be required in that course.

Potential Barriers we’ve overcome:

  • Would you like to have the option of taking certain courses on campus? You can take courses on campus if you like – it’s the same degree with the same courses. You can pick and choose if you would like to take certain courses in person or online.
  • Are you concerned about being able to communicate with your instructor? Online courses allow you to communicate with your instructors in multiple ways – via the online course site as well as phone, email, etc.
  • Have you heard about people having poor experiences with other online courses? MSJ is a recognized university and has the highest level of university accreditation, which is called regional accreditation. MSJ is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Your degree will be recognized, and you may be able to transfer courses in and out of MSJ.
  • MSJ is not for profit.
  • If you have taken courses previously at other schools, we will evaluate whether those courses are equivalent to courses at MSJ. If they are equivalent, we will transfer those courses to MSJ so you get credit for them towards your degree here.
